Dendrite quartz necklace
This is another amazing semiprecious stone from Mina de Gerais Brazil, called dendrite quartz. Is a clear quartz with fern like dendrites and occasional yellowish clouds. Formed when various oxides in liquid seep into fissures in the parent material. Very nice looking material. The inclusions are composes with different minerals as iron, magnesium, manganese and other oxides. Some of these patterns are quite striking, as you can see.The term "dendrite" comes from the Greek word dendron, which means "tree".
Set in handmade fine and sterling silver, this piece is definitively for collectors.
